Key Information for 2021

Dear Parents and Students,
Happy New Year! 2020 has been tough for all human beings, but we all journeyed together and achieved high at Cairns School of Chinese! Congratulations to those students who participated or won prizes at Education Perfect World Series Languages Championship and the Queensland Writitng Competition organised by the University of Queensland last year. We believe 2021 will be a great year with all the support from students, teachers, parents, partners and all other stakeholders.

In 2021, we will introduce Certificate II and III in Applied Language (Mandarin). These are nationally accredited courses for adults and senior students (Year 10 and above). For school aged students, they will be eligible for QCE credits when they have successfully completed the Cert II course. Students will be able to study the Cert III course when they have completed the Cert II course. The Cert III course is both QCE and ATAR eligible. Please contact inquiries@csc.qld.edu.au if you wish to enrol in these courses. Students will be studying 2-2.5 hours/week in class at their own pace. We highly recommend this to adult students and students in Year 10 and above to enrol.

This year the HSK tests will continue to be hosed at Cairns School of Chinese. In addition, we will also open the following tests to the public:
* YCT (for younger kids)
* HSKK (the ‘Speaking’ version of HSK) and
* BCT (Business Chinese – recommended for Cert II and III students as an addition)
All the tests mentioned above are internationally recognised.

There is no enrolment forms needed for continuing and returning students. New students can enrol via the link below:
